            | Races There are fourteen varied races to be in EverQuest, which are explained
              in more detail below.

                Barbarian:
Powerful folk of the North, these fierce Warriors, Shaman &
Rogues are followers of The Tribunal. These inhabitants of the
frigid plains of Everfrost are some of the most fearsome on
                  Norrath.

Dark
Elf: Sadistic, cruel and exceptionally intelligent,
Dark Elves are perhaps the most dreaded race in all of Norrath.
Created by Innoruuk from the bodies of the ancient High Elf
King and Queen, they hate and are hated by most other races,
                  especially other elves.

Dwarf:
Brell Serilis created the Dwarves to live in the underground
city of Kaladim. Due to their high dexterity and strength, they
make fierce warriors, clerics, rogues and paladins.

Erudite:
Created by Mithaniel Marr and Erolissi Marr, the Erudites are
the most intelligent and magically powered race in all of Norrath.
Because they are so intellectually strong, most Erudites are
                  physically weak.

Gnome:
Because of their self-imposed dependence on clockwork machines
to do their tedious work, Gnomes generally lack physical strength
and wisdom. They do however make up for that with high intelligence,
                  dexterity and agility.

                 Half-Elf:
Born of both Human and Wood Elf blood, the Half Elves have the
ability of starting their lives in one of three cities. While
they are are at home in Freeport, Qeynos and Kelethin, they
are not overly loved in any one of the three.

Halfling:
One of the three small races, Halflings live in Rivervale, far
from their cousins the Gnomes and Dwarves. Possessing a naturally
high Wisdom, Dexterity and Agility, which allows them to take
on the professions of Cleric, Druid, Rogue or Warrior.

High
Elf: Created by Tunare, the High Elves are the most
regal (and arrogant) of all the elves. Living in Felwithe, many
within this race will become spell casters or clerics due to
their naturally high wisdom and intelligence.

Human:
Humans are the balanced race. They have no one significant statistic
and can do many things well. They can be any class in Norrath,
save Shaman and before the lost continent of Kunark was found,
they were believed to be the only race capable of being monks.

Iksar:
Having been outcast and forced to hide on the lost continent
for so many years, the Iksar despise all other races, including
other evil races. Reptilian in appearance, its often hard for
those of other races to distinguish one Iksar from the other.

Ogre:
Physically the strongest of all Norrath's races, the Ogre is
naturally a warrior-based race. With such immense strength though
comes a lack of intelligence or even great wisdom. Doomed by
the Gods, Ogres are fated to be eternally stupid.

Troll:
Gifted with the ability to naturally regenerate their high hit
points and exceptionally high strength, Trolls make wonderful
                  fighters.

Vah
Shir: The Vah Shir are a race of noble cat people that
were wiped off Odus and deposited on Luclin many years ago in
the test of a great weapon by the Erudites. Vah Shir have the
ability to be warriors, rogues, shamans, beastlords, and bards.
The Vah Shir are found on the moon of Luclin, and can only be
played by those who have the expansion.

Wood
Elf: Because they are so attuned to the wilds, Wood
Elves make wonderful bards, warriors, druids and most especially
rangers. Like the High Elves they do not get along with their
                  cousins the Dark Elves.
