Call me paranoid. But, have you ever read 1984...kinda odd. But beyond the paranoid side of it all, this is a capitalist country and making a free/low cost government broadband service is just not a good idea. If the government controls the ISP you use what keeps them from telling you what you can and can not use it for. Many ISP companies are already tring to do it, but the government has kept them at bay. I just don't think its such a great idea. The government already has their hands in too many things as is and I for one would prefer them to stay out of this.

... like a speeding car with jammed door locks, cut brake lines, a dead steering wheel, and air vents that pump nitrous oxide. Everyone is dimly aware the country is heading for the edge of a cliff, but no one can muster the energy to search for alternatives.
