Im not sure if anyone else is wondering how to disable the welcome screen, but I found out how to do it.
Open eqclient.ini file in "NotePad" that is in your "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest" directory.
Edit the following line that is a little ways down from the top as follows...
Change ...
